4 Point Plan...It's Fire!

We did it! We're here in 2026!

To be honest, I'm still sorting through all that happened in 2025.

And at the same time, I'm definitely ready for that fresh new start feeling.

My friend Laura and her husband, Eric, came over on New Year's Eve to celebrate with Art and me. She had a pumpkin pie, presents🎁, a 4-point plan, paper, and pens.

Laura's 4-point plan for saying bye-bye to 2025:

1. Think of a few things I don't want to bring into 2026. ❌

2. Write them on a small piece of paper. 🖋️

3. Light paper on fire.🔥

4. Do not light anything else on fire. 💦

We successfully followed this plan (yay us!). I felt freer.

(Brag - we nailed #4.)

Today I came across this picture:

I love this picture. I took it back in August.

When my friend Jessie told me she was bringing my friend (her toddler), Cele, to a gym for young kids called Kid Strong that works on athleticism AND leadership skills, I had three words.

“Can I come?”

She said yes.

I arrived and there it was, the Kid Strong motto, in huge letters on the wall.

I am strong.

I am brave.

I can do this.

At the beginning of the class, The young lovely Kid Strong staff member led the toddler gang into saying that awesome motto together.

I am strong.

I am brave.

I can do this.

The kids were then guided through different timed circuits - climbing, jumping, going on the rings, with a parent close by.

Could it get any cuter?

Oh, it could.

Because then the lovely coach/mentor woman leading the toddlers said, “And now it's time for our public speaking challenge.”

What?!😮

I'd seen the kids sprint in a circle, jump on bosus, practice their balance on a pipe situated very low to the ground.

This was something entirely different.

I was immensely curious.

Here's what came up on the screen about the public speaking challenge:

It said PUBLIC SPEAKING OBSTACLES.

How to play:

  1. Wait your turn.

  2. Stand up tall.

  3. Answer confidently.

GOAL: Answer the question or do the prompt as best you can.

Let me remind you, most of these kids probably can't read yet.

One at a time, these toddlers got up on a soft matt thing and got asked questions like:

“Who plays with you the most?”

It was super cute. And doable for these little athletes.

I mean, wow.

This was setting kids up to associate public speaking as a fun challenge.

It made my heart so happy!

My encouragement to you right now is:

YOU ARE STRONG.

YOU ARE BRAVE.

YOU CAN DO THIS.
